John Peel (1939-2004) started his career as a rock journalist and radio presenter with the BBC in 1967. In his radio programs he introduced innovative foreign genres and artists to adventurous British listeners. In his 'Peel Sessions' he introduced ultra (Minny Pops) and anarcho-punk (The Ex) from Amsterdam and was the first to play the experimental technotrack 'Poing' (1992) by Rotterdam Termination Source.
